We organise upper secondary vocational education for young people and adults, making an important contribution to economic life and vocational competence in the Kainuu region. We operate on a nationwide basis and are active in international projects.
Technology, communication and transport is a multifaceted field of study. The Kainuu Vocational College offers training in the fields of industry, ICT, electrical engineering, vehicles and transport, and construction. The technology study programme also covers the security and food industries. The Adult College also offers training in mining and earth construction, fields that are experiencing strong growth in Northern Finland.
We develop our technology, communications and transport course selection continuously to reflect proactively the changes in working life. The curricula for our technology, ICT, and telecommunications programmes, for example, are updated frequently. Vehicle experts are in great demand both nationally and internationally. We cooperate with the importers of several car makes, and train instructors for the vehicle sector in Finland.
The technology, communications and transport programme offers the option of completing a dual degree, including both a vocational degree and the matriculation examination. While studying for two examinations at the same time may sound like hard work, it is easier than you might think, as any overlapping courses have been eliminated.
